A nice place directly at the beach of Lake Toba on the island Samosir. A place where you not only can make holidays. You can do something. You can help planting trees, take care of the Buffalo, helping by fishing....... or help to develop more of the beginning ecovillage. We want to give photovoltaik around lake toba, we are on the way to create sustainable products, mostly based on the Water hyazinth, we work on waste water treatment and much more. Myself (David) and my fiance Florence are two young people (28 and 25 years old) travelling for 5 months in Indonesia to meet local people, to learn bahasa indonesia and to discover local communities and citizens empowerment.
Wwoofing in Indonesia interests us a lot as we did it both in Europe (Florence in Germany and David in Belgium). In Belgium, in our daily life we used to support local belgian farmers by developping local and direct distribution systems (cf. www.asblrcr.be).
We saw your profile on wwoofing Asia Independents and then we find your blog, the spirit of your project interests us. We found really interesting the vision you have of sharing and exchanging around you and the energy you give for your village.
We arrived in Yogyakarta two weeks ago (David lived in a host family there for one year), and in a few days we are going to a village close to the city to work in rice fields and do other farm work. Afterwards, we go to Flores where we would like to be volunteer in a local organization working on nature, education or agriculture. At the beginning of May we will go to Sumatra, first to Padang and Bukittinggi and then around the beginning of June we will go to Lake Toba.
We would like to come to work with you as volunteers around this time (beginning of June) for 5 to 20 days. Would it be possible ?
